Here's a list, by Joanne Jacobs, of the kinds of events that Amplified will be working with, and the tech-list she envisages:

 

  • Amplified London Event - 300 attendees, wireless at venue, as per Tiger Tiger setup. (requiring multiple ammo-boxes, and a lot of aggregation tools for the media coming from the event attendees - SL)
  • Amplified regional event - 70-100 attendees, wireless at venue, strong techno literacy, webcam, universal mic, dedicated link to UStream and liveblogging/content dumping zone (possible mobile internet), 4-point powerboard and extension lead.
  • Large Unconference event with Amplified coverage - 100-200 attendees, wireless at venue, strong techno literacy, webcam, universal mic, dedicated link to UStream and liveblogging/content dumping zone (possible mobile internet), 4-point powerboard and extension lead.
  • Medium Unconference event - 50-100 attendees, strong techno literacy, wireless at venue, laptop in-built webcam with dedicated link to UStream and liveblogging/content dumping zone (possible mobile internet), 4-point powerboard and extension lead.
  • Small Unconference event - 50-100 attendees, strong techno literacy, wireless network needs to be set up at venue, EITHER laptop in-built webcam with dedicated link to UStream and liveblogging/content dumping zone (possible mobile internet), OR laptop with liveblogging connectivity only, 4-point powerboard and extension lead.
  • Large Non-technical event with Amplified coverage - 100-200 attendees, wireless network needs to be set up at venue, low-medium techno literacy, EITHER webcam & universal mic OR laptop with built-in webcam and mic, dedicated link to UStream and liveblogging/content dumping zone (possible mobile internet), 4-point powerboard and extension lead.
  • Medium Non-technical event with Amplified coverage - 50-70 attendees, wireless network needs to be set up at venue, low-medium techno literacy, laptop with built-in webcam and mic, dedicated link to UStream and liveblogging/content dumping zone (possible mobile internet), 4-point powerboard and extension lead.
  • Small Non-technical event with Amplified coverage - 10-50 attendees, no wireless, low-medium techno literacy, liveblogging only connection via mobile internet to  liveblogging/content dumping zone.
